About the Society

In 2001 the user group proposed to found a society for Facial Expression – Measurement and Meaning. The members of the society elected Jörg Merten and Susanne Kaiser as presidents to organize the foundation of the society.

Representation of researchers on facial expression

The society represents researchers on facial expression and forwards inquiry on different research topics to the respective researchers. The society improves the scientific exchange between researchers working with facial expression.

Membership

The society is open to all researchers interested in measurement and meaning of facial expressions. To become a member please contact International Society for Facial Expression

Organization of conference

The society will give support to organizers of former conferences, f.ex. by building a scientific committee.

Task Force

For all researchers interested in emotional meaning of facial behavior a task force could be build to gather and compile research on the emotional meaning of facial behavior.
